Our Next Class

Jana’s Class is FREE for students and newcomers!!  Yes, you read that right,  FREE! Ckeck out our Tips for Beginners page.

Each lesson is an hour, from 7:30 until 8:30 p.m., after which there’s a social dance to requests for the rest of the evening, until about 10:30 p.m.  Come join us and see what Jana has up her sleeve in the way of fun dances, you can expect to learn dances that will be done at SBD for years to come.  The lessons are $12 each (or FREE!) or $55 for the longer series ( 5 classes), which includes the entire evening of dance. Come dance with us!

For folks wishing to come after the lessons end at 8:30 p.m., we suggest a donation of $5 for the evening of dance.

Our Instructor Jana Rickel 

Jana has been studying and teaching Balkan dance for many years,  her easy going and friendly style make learning even the most challenging dances fun.

Classes are held in 4 to 6 week series and geared for beginner and intermediate dancers.  People can participate in single classes, but of course you will get the most from attending a whole series, as many dances take more than one lesson to learn solidly. Classes are sometimes planned in conjunction with other special events or live music parties so you are prepared to enjoy yourself to the fullest at all our events.

Between Jana’s Classes, we often have guest instructors from our group or special workshops lead by internationally known teachers. Stay tuned for Upcoming Events.
